"The Book That Truly Left a Lasting Impact on Me"

Title of the blog
What is the one book that influenced you and how?

Dear Friends and Students,

Have you ever picked up a book and found that it had a profound impact on your life, altering your perspective,or touching your soul in a way you never expected? I recently had this experience, and i want to share with you the book that left a lasting impression on me angel
It's remarkable how words on paper can have the power to shape our thoughts, feelings and even our actions. The book i'm talking about is "Autobiography of a Yogi: A Transformational Journey Through Words"

There must be something intriguing about the memoir of much-adored monk Paramahansa Yogananda, that it has been published in more than fifty languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. Not just that, it has also enjoyed famous advocates from time to time, right from Steve Jobs and Andrew Weil to George Harrison.

Paramahansa Yogananda says Live quitely in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will takecare of itself.

There are some key reasons , why this book had such a significant impact on me:

‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ is a treasure trove of timeless wisdomenduring life lessons, eternal truths, effective yogic tools and scientific techniques for self-realization; narrated with considerable candour, charm and humour by a charismatic, modern yogi.

Transcending all religious, social and geographical barriers, this book, termed a ‘spiritual classic’, continues to garner widespread admiration.
Let's dive into some of the famous stories and precious insights from the book that have the power to change lives:

  •  The Meeting with Mahavatar Babaji: One of the most intriguing parts of the book is Yogananda's account of meeting the immortal yogi, Mahavatar Babaji. This story is filled with mysticism and spiritual wonder, leaving readers fascinated by the possibilities of the human spirit.

  •   The Tale of the Tiger Swami: Yogananda's encounter with a yogi who could command a tiger is both awe-inspiring and thought- provoking. It challenges our nations of what's possible and reminds us of the untapped potential within us all.

  •  The Lesson of Kriya Yoga: Yogananda shares profound insights into the practice of Kriya yoga, a technique that he beleives can lead to spiritual awakening. The book provides a glimpse to meditation and inner transformation.

  • The Quest for a Balanced Life: Throughout the book, Yogananda empasizes the importance of finding a balance between our spiritual aspirations and our responsibilities in the world

I remember when I had first picked it up to read, I was hoping that it would not inundate me with lofty philosophy, or with some unattainable ideals. But I soon realized my folly in thinking so.

Not only was it a delightful read, to say the least, with Yogananda’s compelling storytelling ability and remarkable eloquence, it was also surprisingly very relatable and entertaining. This was not about some elusive yogi up there in the mountains, but about a person just like you and me who had an amazing life story to share!
