Our decisions shape our Destiny

The Compound Effect is based on the principle “Our Decisions shape our Destiny”.

Everyday your small decisions lead you either to the life you desire or to disaster by default.

 The impact of “Compound Effect” on a student’s achievements.

Small changes that we make in our day to day life give us wonderful results at the end. To build a successful career a student must be willing to face the challenges and must change his habits & routine. Compound effect is the result of small changes that we make in our lives, the right decisions, and consistent work on until goals are accomplished.

 To understand the compound effect better, let us look at the journey of three students in their senior school;

Three students Suresh, Ramesh and Naresh join a pre degree college after passing out grade 10. All three wished to get through a reputed graduation college, crack national level competitive exams (NEET or JEE) with rewarding ranks.

All three had similar capabilities, lifestyle and learning approach. A few weeks of college made them realize that to crack entrance exams they really needed to work smart.

Suresh took no time to identify his strengths and weaknesses. For instance, he spent most of his day time playing video games with friends and social media platforms. He spent least family time, had never been reading newspapers or encouraging books and he hesitated connecting to his teachers. He never drafted any goals or plans for a career.

He thought and decided to bring a change his habits and daily routine. To mark this he kept away from all social media sites, quit playing video games and invested in some bonding among siblings. It wasn’t easy; but he focused on studies, subject enrichment and requested his teachers to help him cover & strengthen subjects. Practicing his changed routine; he read newspaper every day, exercised, ate well and slept on time to be able to wake up early with fresh mind. Reading newspaper with articles on achievements and life about successful personalities broadened his capacity, inspired and motivated him to stick to his improved regime. He began with small tasks, achieved them and slowly but surely improved his concentration span. This gave him the confidence to reach out to parents and teachers; shared and learned his problems to find solutions. Teachers recognized his improved behavior, gave him all the support with this Suresh easily completed all his assignments on time, scored well in NTA exams bagged admission in IIT Mumbai in subjects of his choice.

Ramesh too realized; it is going to be a tough time achieving his goals with present way of studying and lifestyle. But, he could not change his old habits. He continued to spend time surfing internet and play video games with his friends. His interaction in class, with teachers and within family only deteriorated resulting late submission with copied homework, no involvement in learning process, never focused on his weak areas and paid no heed to his own progress. As a result he didn’t qualify for any exam. In the end Ramesh joined a local college of low value.

Naresh also realized the same, but he did nothing to change his old habits. Instead he spent more time on social media, playing more video games with new friends. He forgot about his goals or any ambitions. He escaped teachers & family, never participated in the learning activities, never submitted his assignments and had excuses & reasons for everything. He lost interest in studies and socialized with friends of similar nature, indulges in ill habits & bad company. After two years, he failed in board exams and could not clear any entrance exams.

With the above three examples of students’ life; it is visible that right decisions at right time shape your destiny.

Small changes we bring in our day to day life yield fruitful and fulfilling results. The changes we make might not be noticed immediately; but, you will reap the fruit of efforts. Small adjustments you make over a period of time will change your life completely - whatever your goal is.

Through consistent efforts success comes, sooner or later.

You, yourself are responsible for your life. To be where you wish to be and get desired results change your habits and practice them regularly. Your decisiveness today will inch you closer to success and predicted outcome.

Dear students  remember you can only make your dreams come true by taking action. Everyday  actions decide your destiny. Take an action today that takes you towards your destination.The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. Success is simply a series of small wins consistently.Dreams come true only when you stay committed to them.  Taking the right decisions at the right time will give you the right results.

  Wishing you abundant happiness and unlimited success.
