Why Do We Explore Space?

Why do we explore space? Let's explore what space actually is. According to Google, it says "Space is a three-dimensional continuum containing positions and directions" In simple words "it is an almost perfect vacuum, nearly void of matter and with extremely low pressure. In space, sound doesn't carry because there aren't molecules close enough together to transmit sound between them".

Why should we explore space? Why should money, time and effort be spent researching something with apparently so few benefits? Why should resources be spent on space rather than on conditions and people on Earth? Let's see the importance of exploring space .

5 Reasons Space Exploration Is More Important Than Ever

1. Protection from Asteroids
An asteroid the size of a plane will pass Earth this weekend
Asteroids are rock like structures consists of dust particles and few minerals. The asteroid belt contains a wide range of asteroids, out of which, some are smaller than Earth while the others are much larger than Earth which can wipe out all the species on the earth. Millions years ago an asteroid of 10 to 15km in diameter hit the earth and left world's 2nd largest crater known as "Chicxulub crater" centred on "Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico" but the velocity of its collision caused the creation of a much larger crater, 150 kilometres in diameter. In recent years, humanity has visited comets and asteroids, and missions like Hayabusa2 and OSIRIS-REx have brought back samples. NASA has also successfully tested asteroid deflection technology with the DART Mission. We may soon be able to stop a potentially dangerous asteroid from venturing too close. If we're not working toward that goal, humanity already has an expiration date.

2. Technologies and Researches

We humans did not evolve to go into the space but we went using various gadgets and science. In fact without Space exploration we wouldn't have GPS, Whether prediction, solar cells, satellites, camera etc. There's also medical research is happening in space right now that could cure diseases and prolong human life's. This demonstrates that by exploring space, we not only gain advanced technology but also have the potential to prolong/save lives.

3. Space exploration is inspirational.

Exploring space is truly remarkable. It helps us in many sectors. Like in technology, the urge to contact  with aliens , the present generation is as mysterious as our space. I bet every human on this planet will have one wish to see aliens atleast one's in real life. In a 2012 interview with National Public Radio, astrophysicist, author, and lecturer Neil DeGrasse Tyson stated, "I could stand in front of eighth graders and say, 'Who wants to be an aerospace engineer so you can design an airplane 20 percent more fuel-efficient than the one your parents flew?' That doesn't usually work. But if I say, 'Who wants to be an aerospace engineer to design the airplane that will navigate the rarefied atmosphere of Mars?' ... I'm getting the best students in the class." This still holds true today and inspiring kids will always be the key to future space exploration."

4. We need raw materials from Space.

Space contains numerous valuable elements such as platinum, gold, silver, and more. Many private sectors are interested in mining these valuable elements, but the cost is high, making it a challenging endeavor.

For example we have our own Moon which is a source of Helium - 3. Do you know one gram of Helium there is $1400 which is almost 1,14,800 Indian rupees. The moon also is believed to be a potential source of rare earth elements such as europium and tantalum, which are in high demand for use in electronics, solar panels and other advanced gadgetry.

5. We "THE EXPLORERS"

I believe EXPLORING is the main key to to evolve into advanced species. Without exploration, we wouldn't have progressed to this point. But I say we aren't the most advanced species in the universe. Do you wanna know why ? Okay let's know about Civilization. There are 7 types of civilization:
Type 1 civilization - It is also known as "Planetary civilization" which humans found out all the mysteries and can use earth's energy

Type 2 Civilization - Civilizations that have control over more than one stellar system.

Type 3 Civilization - Extracts fusion and exotic energy, information, and raw-materials from their galaxy.

Type 4 Civilization - Civilization which can Harnesses the power of its own supercluster of galaxies, and eventually its universe of origin, and become effectively immortal.

Type 5 Civilization - Advanced enough to to escape their universe of origin and explore the multiverse.

Type 6 Civilization - Capable of creating and maintaining the fundamental laws of universes.

Type 7 Civilization -  It is also known as "Civilization of the galaxy" or Galactic Civilization. It is a hypothetical level of technological advancement proposed by Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev in 1964.

But unfortunately we are in Type 0.7 civilization acheive almost type Zero. Humans could take millions of years to evolve into Type 7 Civilization.
Nevertheless, we, 'The Humans,' can achieve anything.
