The Joy of Reading. Why one should read books.

Reading is a Positive Distraction:

Studies show that reading reduces stress, increases intelligence, expands knowledge and understanding and improves memory. These are just some of the known benefits of reading. You can read more about the benefits of reading here and here. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

Many people tend to prefer the social activities and networking that connect us to people rather than the solitude of time spent reading.  However, the truth is that reading can be social too.

Reading has many benefits, it teaches us new vocabulary, improves our focus and imagination, makes us smarter and most importantly improves memory. Those who are habitual in reading feel comforted with books.
