Introduction:

Highway is a hindi language road drama film written and directed by Imtiaz Ali and it stars National Award winning actress Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda and music composed by A.R.Rahman. It was released on 21st February 2014 and became a huge commercial success. 

Body:

Highway deals with a girl who is kidnapped on her wedding day discovers freedom,love,peace through the journey afterwards and how the main leads life changed through their horrific pain in past. Highway also tells about sensitive yet unspoken topics like child molestation,Trauma,Mental health,rich & poor differences etc. It also shows the complex and well written lovestory between Veera and Mahanir.Alia's performance as Veera is extraordinary and she lived in character and made to feel me connected to her. Randeep hooda as Mahabir, the rugged man with criminal and dark past was so promising and his acting was outstanding.
Imtiaz Ali's well written storyline,dialogues,screenplay,direction pairing with soulful music of A.R.Rahman makes it a worthful film. Songs like Pataka guddi and Maahi ve uplifts your inner soul.The pace of the film makes us to be connected with the storyline.It also beautifully visualized the mountains and Travelling. 

conclusion:

In my view films like Highway are rarely made shows the actual peace and sufferings. It was a therapy. The motto of Highway is
" Not  all journeys are meant for destination but some are meant for you to free yourself from the demons that imprison you. "
