The Impact Of Social Media On Relationships

INTRODUCTION:
                 
       In an increasingly digital world,Social media have  deeply embedded into day to day relationships.Social media are a collection of Technologies that allow people to communicate,exchange information with each other to maintain connectivity in social networks.The information shared between people through Social Media has a greater  impact on relationships.Social media networks are diverse.It acts as both positive and negative in relationships.With the increase use of platforms like Facebook,Instagram,Snapchat and Twitter for personal communication,it is important to understand the impact that it creates in relationships.This impact can range from creating distance from offline relationships and promote jealousy ,conflicts and can also lead to misunderstandings between people while on the other side it allows to connect with family,friends and what not! 

Positive Influence of Social Media on Relationships:            

>      Social media allows people to connect to family and friends who might be on the other side of the world.
>      Social Media helps many abandoned and homeless people to find homes and new  family.
>      It is easier to meet new people with similar interests on social media platforms, allowing individuals to develop new relationships.
>      It allow us to look back memories and enjoyable moments that was shared on social media.
>      Social media  encourage positive interactions such as sharing support, love, and kindness.
>      It breaks the stereotype barriers between people who have different cultures, and societal barriers that may prevent relationships from forming.
>      Social Media is also used for educating people and it opens the door for finding path to multiple sources and various oppurtunities throughout the globe.


Negative Influence of Social Media on Relationships:

>      
Social Media Create Unrealistic Expectations about relationships that make people to feel that their relationships are insufficient
>       People who spend a lot of time on social media have less time to spend with family relationships.
>      Giving a priority to social media instead of people around them lead to negligence and then disconnection.   
>       Social media turns out  dangerous if it becomes an addiction to people who tends to not use it in a proper way and can be a source of distraction from career.
>       Every detail in social media cannot be true.Trusting unknown people on social media can make innocent people lives miserable.
>       The use of social networking sites can lead to decreased face-to-face communication and social skills that are essential for building relationships.
>       People can be trapped in irrelevant  issues that effect relationships and also creates the thought of  comparing oneself to others, leading to feelings of low self-esteem.

CONCLUSION:

                  Social media can have both positive and negative effects on relationships. On the one hand, it can help people stay connected with friends and family members who live far away, and it can provide a platform for people to connect with others who share their interests. On the other hand, social media can also lead to decreased communication and quality time with loved ones,  jealousy and insecurity.So ,Do not overspend your time on social media.Be aware of what you share and how you share it.Be honest and open with your family about your social media use.Don't compare yourself to others.Use social media to connect with people in a positive way.
