An Optimistic Scenario for Transportation
Today, in this blog, I’ll take you on a tour of how will the future of the Transportation Industry be like.
PRESENT:
It’s a routine morning as you try to catch up with speed of your daily lives, the day starts from getting stuck in the traffic and surrounded by the racket of honking horns. Have you ever wondered a better way?
New technologies are emerging that promise to revolutionize transportation and make that dream a reality. These are the innovation that could fundamentally transform how we travel.
Transportation Technologies to Boom in Future
HYPERLOOPS:
Hyperloop technology has emerged as a revolutionary concept that promises to transform the way we travel by offering unprecedented high-speed transportation. In this section, we will explore the explanation of Hyperloop technology, its origins, and the advantages it brings, as well as the challenges that need to be addressed for its successful implementation. Hyperloop technology, first conceptualized by entrepreneur Elon Musk in 2013, proposes a transportation system where pods or capsules travel at ultra-high speeds through low-pressure tubes. Hyperloop is a fast mass transport system, a way to travel extremely fast as compared to traditional transportation systems. Currently, major hyperloop projects are under development by a number of popular companies. Hyperloop could convey passengers and cargo at the speed of airline or hypersonic speeds while being very energy efficient. The speed could reach up to 700 miles per hour which means traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco in under 33 minutes.
LIGHTWEIGHT VEHICLES:
Automobile manufacturers are working high to deliver vehicles that are efficient and give high performance. Studies have shown that reducing the weight of the vehicle by 10% will improve fuel efficiency by 6% or more. One of the best ways to make the material light is to replace the iron and steel with some other metals like carbon fibre construction and magnesium-aluminium alloy. However, manufacturers are still working to bring the idea to reality.
FLYING TAXIS :
Whether it is a start-up or large companies, flying taxis will be the future of the transportation industry. Uber has announced to come up with flying taxis by 2023, under the assistance of Nasa. The goal of Uber is focused on building a flying taxi, that is electrically powered and flies’ passengers to their destination. An example of such a flying taxi is Volocopter, an autonomous aircraft with electric power. As of now, Volocopter is under test in Dubai.
AUTONOUMOUS CARS:
Autonomous cars have turned from dream to reality with the help of technologies like IoT, AI, LiDAR, etc. Trial runs are being conducted by companies worldwide. Companies like Tesla and Waymo are the frontrunners of the autonomous revolution. Slowly and gradually, people are getting comfortable with the self-driving thing. An autonomous car is said to be safer than human-driven cars as they can overcome the human errors.
The Future of Transportation
The transportation industry is constantly evolving, and there are several trends that are likely to shape its future. One of the biggest is the move towards autonomous vehicles, including self-driving cars and trucks. These vehicles have the potential to greatly reduce the number of accidents on the road and improve efficiency, but there are still many regulatory and technological hurdles to overcome.
Smart Transportation - A New Way Internet (Conclusion)
Since the born of the internet, it has revolutionized society, introducing new forms everyday. Similarly, various technologies in transportation can work as driver for the next 20 years. We're moving towards the future, where the transportation will be easy as we send emails or navigation through the web in day to day life. With all the above-mentioned technologies, we will complete revolution in the future transportation industry. There are lots of profitable transportation business ideas, and almost each of them will be a success in future.
